Biography: 
Dr. Mohammed Hasan Mahmud is a distinguished Member of Parliament and currently holds the esteemed position of Foreign Minister within the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. His academic background boasts a Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry earned from Limburg University in 2000-2001.


Dr. Mahmud has held significant governmental roles including Minister of Information and Broadcasting from January 2019 to January 2024, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change from January 2014 to December 2018, Minister of Environment & Forest from August 2009 to January 2014, and State Minister of Foreign Affairs from January 2009 to July 2009.

In addition to his governmental duties, Dr. Mahmud has also contributed extensively to academia, serving as a Former Visiting Fellow and Academic Board Member at the European Institute for Strategic Studies (CERIS) in Brussels, Belgium. Furthermore, he has imparted knowledge as a part-time teacher of Environmental Science & Bangladesh Studies at East-West University and North-South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, as well as a part-time teacher of Environmental Science at Jahangirnagar University in Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Oceanography at Dhaka University in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
